This award recognises the best initiatives in antibody validation. As you know, here at CiteAb, we live and breath antibodies every day, so making sure that scientists can easily find those that will work in their research is core to our organisation (view past winners).

We’re very pleased to announce that in this highly competitive category, the winner of this award in 2017 is Abcam.

The company’s impressive KO initiative really impressed judges and demonstrates a significant commitment to validation.

Abcam recently introduced knockout (KO) validation at scale to ensure its antibodies are specific and provide reproducible results. Using human KO cell lines, the company is developing a growing range of KO-validated antibodies, including many recombinant monoclonal antibodies.

Dr Andrew Chalmers said: “We’ve been very involved in the antibody validation movement over the past two years, and saw a number of excellent initiatives discussed at the 2nd International Antibody Validation event we co-hosted in September. We were thrilled to see an excellent standard of entry in this extremely important category, and congratulate Abcam on their deserved win.”
