Whether entering a new field, building on a skillset or feeding curiosity, we often turn to an educational resource to get insights. This Award celebrates an initiative that helps scientists in their research!
Congratulations to the winner in this category: YCharOS.
The Antibody Characterization through Open Science (YCharOS) initiative is an international public-private partnership providing antibody characterization data for human proteins in immunoblot, immunoprecipitation, and immunofluorescence. By generating accessible reports, YCharOS helps biomedical researchers when selecting reliable antibodies, addressing the ongoing antibody reproducibility crisis. You can read more about YCharOS here.
This award was designed to recognise reach, impact and quality. YCharOS has certainly met this criteria, publishing 140 antibody characterization reports on Zenodo, reviewed by industry partners. Many have undergone peer review for publication on F1000Research on the YCharOS Gateway. Data will also be integrated into UniProt, expanding its impact.
Our judging panel in this category remarked on the strong set of nominations, with many companies doing a fantastic job providing educational resources to researchers.
The judges:
- Momna Hejmadi: Associate Pro Vice Chancellor (Education Quality and Enhancement) for the University of Bath
- Giovanna Roncador: Head of Monoclonal Antibodies Unit (CNIO) and Chair of EuroMAbNet
- Nicole K Polinski: Director of Research Programs, The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research
Did you know that you can access YCharOS reports on CiteAb? We link out directly to their Zenodo reports when available on antibody product pages to streamline access to this high value information.
