A brand new category for 2025, the Application of the Year Award was designed to celebrate the impact of research at the bench and recognise exciting new applications using research reagents.
Congratulations to M Dodel et al. for their work on TREX (targeted RNase H-mediated extraction of crosslinked RBPs).
TREX is a highly sensitive approach for identifying proteins that directly bind to specific RNA regions. It combines RNase H-mediated RNA degradation with phase extraction - offering a new method in the more challenging field of RNA-centric profiling of RNA-RBP interactions, which focuses on which RBPs are bound to a specific RNA.
